Turmeric Ginger Shot
Something new to try! My youngest, Julia introduce this juice to me and although I am not a big fan of turmeric I know it has many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties, so I try to incorporate it in my diet. Dr. Sarah Ballantyne has a great article about the benefits of turmeric that I would recommend reading. https://www.thepaleomom.com/turmeric-full-scoop/ There are a few concerns in supplementing with turmeric so be sure to read the whole article, she suggests digesting turmeric in it’s whole-food form as it would be difficult to overdose this way. Thus this new recipe:
Juice together:
1 apple
1/4 lemon
2 to 3 inches of turmeric root
1 inch of ginger root (up to 3 inches if you like the spice)
*Play around with the quantity to adjust the taste.
I also shake on (a little) turmeric powder on my chicken with salt and pepper before I roast it. It adds a beautiful golden color to the skin and another level of flavor which I enjoy.
