This is where the healing takes place…
The gut. 80% of our immune system is found in the intestines. So it makes sense if you have a dysfunction in your immune system, such as an autoimmune disease, you look towards the gut to heal it. I highly recommend checking out the Paleo Mom’s website. Dr. Sarah Ballantyne has a background as an inflammation researcher and explains the science behind leaky gut and how and why food can heal your gut. She is who I followed in healing my autoimmune diseases.
I was never a vegetable eater but was a big fan of the American diet. I thought an In-and-Out hamburger, fries and their delicious milk shakes was a nutritional meal. Most of these recipes are pretty basic and are more geared for the non-chef to show you how to incorporate more veggies, cook with no sugar and not to eat processed foods. There are some AIP recipes that I highly recommend…I still make them even though I am no longer on the AIP diet, they are that good!
There is a link of where I found each recipe, bon appétit!

A Healthier version of a spinach salad…
I love a good spinach salad! Of course dressing with bacon grease and sugar is what makes it so yummy, but not so yummy for our bodies.
A Tastier Green Juice
My youngest daughter, Julia, shared her green juice recipe and it really changed my mind about adding fruit to green juicing. I have always defined green juice with the use of only vegetables. I take my green juicing like it’s medicine, it doesn’t taste great but I do it because I feel better when I green juice.

Now, I never made tortillas before so this was a new experience and I was pleasantly surprised on how good they tasted! Since I haven’t had a flour tortilla in 8 or 9 years I wasn’t sure if they were really that great…

Gluten Free, Soy Free replacement for Soy Sauce
Luckily for people who cannot have gluten or for you that are trying to heal your gut, there is a replacement. Coconut Aminos. I did not even have to have an adjustment period, it was an easy transition.
Dairy Free Cauliflour Soup that is creamy and delicious!
Although it is summer time, I find having a batch of vegetable soup on hand helps me get vegetables into my breakfast. It’s hard to be eating veggies first thing in the morning when you have spent your whole life having french toast, pancakes or cereal. Green juicing, ginger shots and veggie soups are just a few ways I can accomplish an increase of veggies and still enjoy my meal.
