Naturopathic medicine is a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It embraces many therapies, including herbs, massage, acupuncture, exercise, and nutritional counseling.
It amazes me, that three individuals who did not know one another came up with the same concept to heal their autoimmune disease or chronic illness through similar diet and lifestyle change. They are leaders in this industry and are lighting the path to health through science. These are the three who I follow and I credit to in giving my health and my life back.

Where West Meets East
We are with Kaiser Permanente Medical Group, have been for decades. I think it’s one of the best medical plans out there. I love the fact that you can see your general practitioner in the morning, go have lab work and a ultra sound and not even leave the facility. What is even better is your doctor decides when you need to be referred to a specialist right then and there…no need to get approval from a governing panel. It is instant. This is huge when you are ill. So I am not a purist when it comes to Eastern Medicine. I believe western medicine has an important place for my health.
For me, where I discovered Western Medicine falls short is the concept of treating the symptoms and not finding the source of the illness…the why? It also misses the mark in believing chronic illness is just in your cards and you have no control over it. Once you have it, that’s it, that is your lot in life. That is where Eastern Medicine came to play for me. For whatever reason, I inherently knew I did not want to be on meds for the rest of my life…alot of people feel that way. I have to give my mom credit for that, the woman never took aspirin a day in her life. If her body told her something wasn’t right, she would stop and rest till she felt better. What a concept, huh?
From what limited knowledge I have of Eastern Medicine, it looks to find out the source of the illness. Once that is determined, supplementing the body where needed and then allow the body to heal on it’s own. That is what I needed. I want to know what was happening to my body and why. Once I had that figured out I could start to heal. Thank you, Sarah, Chris and Terry.
