A Tastier Green Juice
My youngest daughter, Julia, shared her green juice recipe and it really changed my mind about adding fruit to green juicing. See my original post about green juicing here.
I have always defined green juice with the use of only vegetables. I take my green juicing like it’s medicine, it doesn’t taste great but I do it because I feel better when I green juice. Julia drinks her green juice with a meal because she enjoys the taste. So now I am thinking why not? Food and drink should be enjoyed not something that should be endured. There are a ga-zillion recipes out there for green juicing, but the primary items are carrots, kale or chard, cucumbers and celery. I like her recipe as it includes ginger which is a great inflammation reducer. I ‘ve always added beets for sweetness but add an apple or an orange and it will take your juice from bitter to tasty! Cheers!
2 celery stalks
4 small carrots or 2 large ones
bunch of kale (any kind, about 4-5 big leaves)
1 apple, core and all!
1 orange
piece of ginger (size to taste)
1 cucumber
